Artist Statement
I am examining within this body of work, the ExtraOrdinary MakeOver Series, the need for women to focus on their looks
as a passport to greater things in life. “If only I had bigger eyes. If only I had a smaller nose. If only I had fuller lips.
With a nip & tuck here & there, I could be this perfect person.”
My work relates to the theme of ones’ self image, as in this fantasy, many women have a desire to visually become a “perfect person” through surgery. This is nothing more than a fairytale, leaving their dreams unfulfilled and their lives full of dissolution.
